Brian S. Kuznik was appointed Fire Chief for the City of Greeley on March 27, 2021. He began his fire service career in 1995, where he served as a volunteer firefighter with the Western Hills Fire Protection District before being hired with the Greeley Fire Department on March 29, 1999. Chief Kuznik has moved his way through the ranks of the Greeley Fire Department serving as Lieutenant, Battalion Chief and Division Chief of Operations.
Chief Kuznik holds an associate’s degree in Fire Science Technology from Aims Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Columbia Southern University. He has completed post-graduate studies at the National Fire Academy and is a graduate of the City of Los Angeles Fire Department’s Leadership Academy, which is 4-month leadership program modeled after the United States Military Academy at West Point. He has also completed the Joseph P. Riley Jr. Center for Livable Communities Leading EDGE program through the College of Charleston.
Chief Kuznik leads a department of 135 personnel with a budget of over $28 million dollars responding to over 17,000 calls for service annually. He is committed to ensuring the department can meet the ever-changing needs of the community while providing the highest level of service in everything they do.
