Emergency Medical Services

The Greeley Fire Department is proud to provide world class emergency medical services (EMS) to Greeley residents and visitors. Our personnel are trained to the level of emergency medical technician (EMT) with many of our providers trained to the level of paramedic. One paramedic is assigned to each of our seven firehouses.

Our goal is to provide the highest quality care in such important areas as stroke recognition and treatment, advanced cardiac monitoring and support, cardiac defibrillation, intubation/advanced respiratory support, trauma care as well as a multitude of other time sensitive critical prehospital treatments.

We provide a high level of care through our commitment to a rigorous recruitment and training program for new employees. We offer our employees extensive education to maintain their medical knowledge and skills. We have a strong desire to stay on the cutting edge of technology to ensure we have the most efficient and effective medical equipment. Additionally, the strategic location of our fire stations throughout Greeley allows us to respond rapidly to calls when seconds count.

Greeley Fire Department has a collaborative partnership with UC Health Ambulance to provide further evaluation and treatment beyond what can be provided in the field. UC Health’s level of high-quality prehospital care and treatment compliments that of the Greeley Fire Department. That partnership ensures the continuity of care and customer service for our patients is second to none. In fact, the out-of-hospital cardiac arrest save rate in the City of Greeley is higher than that of the national average.
